Golden Spring: The Midnight Sun Opens New Adventures

Lyngenfjord’s freeride season may peak in spring, but the most magical weeks arrive in May. The golden midnight sun softens slopes that have been frozen all winter, letting you chase powder high in the mountains while the valleys already smell of thawing earth and sea breeze. Many peaks only open up in late spring, long after the main ski crowds have gone – leaving the mountains quiet, spacious, and yours to explore.

This is also the perfect season for snowshoeing: whatever the weather or conditions, snowshoes carry you effortlessly to waterfalls, lighthouses, mountain huts (hyttas), and sweeping viewpoints.

And when the snow finally retreats, Lyngenfjord reveals a whole new world – glacier hikes, mountain biking, water sports, and fishing, adventures that run around the clock under the endless Arctic sun.

Late winter and spring in Northern Norway is an adventure! Embrace the magic of snowy landscapes and crisp Arctic air but remember, conditions can change quickly. For a smooth and safe journey, check out Our guide to a safe and secure winter journey in the Lyngenfjord region!
