Reindeer Encounter & Sámi Culture Day Experience - The Samiway
Step into our world and spend an unforgettable day with our reindeer. Gentle, curious beings who have lived alongside our families for generations. Led by Nils Peder and The Samiway family, this experience opens the door to real Sámi life, inviting you to slow down, breathe the Arctic air, and connect with our indigenous traditions.
You’ll meet our reindeer up close, feed them by hand, and then try the ancient Sámi way of getting around: reindeer sledding. This relaxing and short 10–15 minute ride lets you experience the traditional winter travel method our ancestors relied on for centuries. You can also try your luck with the traditional Sámi lasso and feel the rhythm of a skill deeply rooted in our culture.
Afterwards, we welcome you into our warm lávvu (Sámi tent), where you’ll hear personal stories about reindeer husbandry, our heritage, and the way we live today. As you settle by the fire, enjoy freshly brewed coffee or tea and a hot meal.
