Sarafossen waterfall

Sarafossen is one of the highest waterfalls in Nordreisa. It’s easily accessible, including for children with previous walking experience. The Sarafossen waterfall is a spectacular sight!

Hiking description

The walk starts at the gravel pit approx. 500 m before Saraelv. There is an information board and it’s clearly signposted.

Follow the Arctic Trail (Nordkalottruta) nearly 1 km before turning off to the waterfall viewpoint. It’s steep but the path is easy to follow. Look back for great views of the Reisa Valley.

There is a basic fireplace at the top and many nice places to take photos with the waterfall in the background. In the late summer, you can pick wild blueberries along the path.

Worth knowing: Drive 3 km further up the valley towards Saraelv until you reach Ovi Raishiin – Visitor Point Reisadalen. There are information boards about the national park and from the viewpoint you can get great views well into Reisa National Park.
