Description

Ready to explore the Arctic mountains on skis? This guided ski touring trip is perfect for beginners who want to get a feel for the sport in a safe and beautiful setting. Whether you're looking to get started with ski touring or just want to try something new, this tour gives you the essential knowledge and experience — all in one day.

We'll meet in Lyngseidet at 9:30 AM. If you don’t have your own gear, everything you need can be rented from ElektroSport (right in town). Your guide will introduce you to the equipment and lead a relaxed, instructional ski tour focused on safe travel, tips and tricks for smooth skinning up, and how to enjoy the ride down.

Expect about 500 meters of vertical ascent and a tour that lasts 4–6 hours, depending on conditions and group pace. You don’t need ski touring experience, but you must be comfortable skiing downhill or have cross-country skiing experience. If you can walk 5 km at a steady pace, you'll do great!

We always tailor the route to current weather and snow conditions, as well as the group’s ability and energy level.

What is included:
-Certified Ski Guide
-Introduction to ski touring gear, safety, uphill and downhill technique
-Tailored route based on weather and group ability

What to bring:
-Touring skis (or splitboard), boots, poles, skins
-Avalanche safety gear: transceiver, shovel and probe
-Layered outdoor clothing suitable for Arctic conditions.*
-Helmet, goggles and sunglasses
-Snacks/lunch and a drink

Note! Rental gear is available locally at Elektro Sport in Lyngseidet. Please arrive with enough time to rent before the tour starts.

* Wear layered outdoor clothing suitable for Arctic conditions. Dressing in layers allows you to adjust your temperature throughout the day — staying cool while skinning uphill and warm during breaks or on the descent. While temperatures rarely drop below -10°C, wind chill can be significant, especially above the treeline.
