Reindeer Encounter & Sámi Culture Afternoon Experience - The Samiway
Step into our world and spend a magical evening with our reindeer. Gentle, curious beings who have lived alongside our families for generations. Led by Nils Peder and The Samiway family, this experience opens the door to Sámi life, inviting you to breathe the crisp Arctic air and connect with our indigenous traditions.
You’ll meet our reindeer up close, feed them by hand, and then try the ancient Sámi way of getting around: reindeer sledding. This relaxing and short 10–15 minute ride gives you a taste of the traditional winter travel method our ancestors relied on for centuries. You can also try your luck with the traditional Sámi lasso and feel the rhythm of a skill deeply rooted in our culture.
As the daylight fades, we welcome you into our warm, fire-lit lávvu (Sámi tent). Here, you’ll hear personal stories about reindeer husbandry, our heritage, and the way we live today. While the Arctic evening settles outside, you can relax by the fire and enjoy freshly brewed coffee or tea along with a hot meal.
