Explore the Historic Island of Uløya: A Journey Through Time - With Transfers from Tromsø - Lyngen Experience
Start your day with a scenic transfer from Tromsø, enjoying the picturesque drive and a ferry ride to Nord Lenangen. From there, we’ll embark on a 90-minute sail through the stunning fjords, arriving at the southern tip of Uløya Island, where we’ll dock at the historic Havness. This unique location is listed in Olavrose, Norway’s recognized heritage list, and is home to the northernmost trading post in the country, still in operation today.
As we walk around the island, you’ll discover its rich history—from the production of stockfish to the fascinating stories behind the centuries-old buildings, some of which date back to the 1700s. The island’s history stretches over 6000 years, from early settlements to its German occupation during WWII. The Giæver family has been running the site since 1795, preserving its legacy for generations.
