Dog sledding on wheels - Into the wild

From may to november there is no snow even this far above the arctic circle, so the huskies can't pull a sled, even if they could, they would do it all the time. They love to run, and even if there is no snow they still need the exercise. So people created the sled substitute wheeled cart, which they can pull without snow. This wheeled cart has a seat on which a person can sit comfortably and the other person can drive it. We can enjoy the green forest, admire the teamwork of the huskies pulling the cart and feel how strong they are.

We will pass through crystal clear streams, past small waterfalls, through dense forest and also through a small higher clearing where you can see the valley surrounded by high mountains. Of course, there will be the dog petting time when we get back to the farm, as a way to praise and thank them for their extraordinary work. Afterwards we will host you for a coffee at the farm.

You can be passenger on the ATV/cart or you can drive it. If you want to be only a passenger without driving, we guides will drive the ATV/cart with 6-12 dogs, and you will travel as a passenger on the seat. If you want to drive the cart, we guides will go in front of you on an ATV, and you will come behind us with the cart with 4-6 dogs (depending on whether someone is sitting on the cart or not). You and the person you are coming with can switch halfway (the one who sits drives, the one who drives sits).

Duration: 2 hours – around from 1 September to 15 November 10-12 h.

This time includes the preparations for the tour, the tour itself, packing after the tour. This time does not include the trip with car to the husky farm and back to your accomodation. 

Attire: It is recommended to come in warm clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty according to the weather. We provide: rain pant and jacket, rubber boots adn the necesarry equiopment like helmet, googles/glasses, gloves.

The mimimum age to participate on this tour is like a passenger 10, like a driver 14.
