Get to know the vibrant Sámi culture during an atmospheric visit to our traditional lavvu (Sámi tent) by Lyngenfjord Hotel. Here, you’ll enjoy captivating stories and joik performances presented by Sámi people dressed in traditional kofte – a true taste of Sámi heritage.


Warm yourself by the crackling fire with freshly brewed coffee made over the flames, and enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks while learning about Sámi history, culture, and traditions.

Just outside the lavvu, you’ll meet our friendly reindeer. Step inside the enclosure, pet them, feed them – and don’t forget to snap a memorable selfie with your new four-legged friends!


After your reindeer encounter, you’re invited into the hotel to enjoy a delicious and authentic Norwegian lunch in our Sámi-themed restaurant.


When the activities are over, you’ll have around two hours of free time. Relax in our cozy lounge and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before returning to Tromsø. You can also explore the surrounding area – feel free to ask us for local tips!

Transport

Departure: 09:00 from Tromsø Bus Terminal (Prostneset). Please arrive by 08:45.

Look for the red Arctic Route bus marked with the “Arctic Route” logo (route towards Storslett).

Arrival: Skibotn Hotel around 10:50.

Return: Departure from Lyngenfjord Hotel in Skibotn at 15:35, arriving back in Tromsø around 17:35.


Round-trip transportation with Arctic Route is included in the price, and the journey offers stunning views of Northern Norway’s beautiful Arctic landscapes.
