Dog sledding in arctic nature with lunch first - Activenorth
Come and visit our beautiful Alaskan Huskys.
The Alaskan Huskys will greet you with excited barking and friendly attitude, willingly pulling the sled into the valley of Skibotn. We will travel through the pine tree forest and into the beautiful white mountains. We will have a perfect view to the extraordinary mountain range, The Lyngen Alps.
When you come to Skibotn, you will meet at Skibotn Hotel, where you will be served lunch.
About 13:00 you will be transfered to Activenorth where you will get outdoor clothes and shoes.
Experienced dog mushers will give you instructions on how to drive a dog sled. You will drive in pairs, one driver and one passenger on the sled. You can switch during the ride.
The trip will last for 1,5 – 2 hours. We will have a quick break halfway, where you will get the opportunity to take pictures, change drivers, and cuddle the dogs.

- Day trips will give you the chance of seeing the Lyngen Alps.
- Transport from Tromsø (if you've booked the activity included transport from Tromsø)
Level: medium. The dog sledding activity is physically challenging

Duration: 1,5 - 2 hrs dogsledding + transport 1 hr and 45 min each way (if booked from Tromsø)
Departure Tromsø: Arctic Route at 09:00 from outside Scandic Ishavshotel. Please be there by 08:45. It is part of the route to Storslett and arrives in Skibotn just before 11. You'll be back in Tromsø around 17.35
Meeting time and place in Skibotn: Arriving by your own car, drive to Skibotn Hotel, please be there at 11.00. Afterwards the journey goes to Activenorth, Stormyra 1, in Skibotn
We recommend that you have warm undergarments. Wool or fleece is the best.
NB! During december/early january it will be dark/partially dark during the dog sledding and you will get a headlamp for the trip
