Reindeer Feeding and Sami Culture with a Chance of Northern Lights

Participate in the evening feeding session of our reindeer and enjoy the Arctic nature around you. Our location is dark and free of light pollution which makes it a wonderful place to enjoy the starry sky and the northern lights if they show up!

Join our tour to get close to Reindeers!

These gentle but curious creatures will come to eat from your hands, and you will get plenty of time to interact with these magical beings.

Our camp is far away from the city lights and noise, which makes it a perfect spot to enjoy the northern lights. This beautiful phenomenon cannot be predicted though, which makes it extra magical when it happens while you are here!

The tour will start in front of Radisson Blue hotel in Tromsø where our guides, wearing blue Luhkkas (traditional Sami ponchos) will check you in and guide you to your bus.

You will then hop on a 45 minutes’ drive to our camp. On your way, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful Northern Norwegian mountains and upon arrival, you will be greeted by our Sami guide who will give a brief safety introduction and guide you to the reindeer fence to start with the reindeer feeding.

You will head to the Gamme (a modern interpretation of a traditional Sami hut) or the Lavvu (a traditional Sami tent, much like a Tipi) for a hot drink and a warm tasty Biddos, our traditional Sami stew with Reindeer meat, potatoes and carrots. We also offer a vegan alternative, a veggie soup with lentils, carrots, broccoli and green beans.

Inside the Gamme, our guide will tell you more about life in the Arctic, Sami knowledge and culture, and will show you a collection of Sami artifacts and clothing.

And lastly, there will be time for a bathroom break and for you to visit our lovely souvenir shop on site, before boarding the bus and going back to the city!
