Reindeer Feeding and Sami Culture - 1pm departure - Tromsø Lapland

Located in a beautiful valley nestled between Norwegian mountains 50 minutes away from Tromsø city center, our camp will allow you to get to know our reindeer, feed them, pet them, and take wonderful pictures, then our amazing Sami guides will take you through centuries of indigenous history with a traditional taste of Bidos, a reindeer stew with potatoes and carrots in a brown gravy (vegan option available), and tales from their culture, from reindeer herding to courtship customs, old wives' tales, and anecdotes from their families. Be curious and ready to ask questions, they can’t wait to share with you!
This tour shares the same program as our 10am departure!
Includes:
- 50 minutes of scenic transfer to camp and back to the city
- Feeding our reindeer
- Traditional lunch with Bidos (or a vegan option: a Norwegian style vegetable soup with potatoes, turnip, carrots, onions, leek, salt, pepper, spices and broth, gluten free), bread, margarine, cookies, hot cocoa, coffee and tea
- A 30 minute introduction on Sami culture given by an authentic Sami guide
- Snowsuits, boot covers, hats, mittens

Meeting point and time:
Pick up is at 12.45pm in front of Radisson Blu hotel, the bus will depart at 1pm
Look for a guide wearing a blue Luhkka (traditional Sami poncho)
You will be back in front of Radisson Blue hotel by 5.30pm
IMPORTANT: It is possible for our guests to arrive at our camp autonomously if they wish to do so. Our address is Sjursnesvegen 144, 9027 Ramfjordbotn, Norway. Please arrive by 2pm to ensure you can participate in all the activities included in the tour.
Please keep in mind that Norwegian roads present a peculiar set of adversities. If you are not a skilled driver in snowy and icy conditions, consider coming with our bus. We value our guests' safety over everything!
