On this route, you will experience the beauty of Finnish Lapland, both the tundra and the small municipalities along the route. This route will connect you to Kittilä Airport, Levi Skiing resort and Rovaniemi's famous Santa Claus Village. In addition to the beauty of the landscape, there are a lot of vendors offering experiences such as, snowmobile safari, skiing, Sami culture, husky safari, ice fishing, local food and culture, accommodation and much more. It is also possible to continue your journey in Finland down to Oulu on the same day.

Important:

Red buses: Arctic Route operates the Tromsø–Kilpisjärvi–Tromsø route on the Norwegian side.

Yellow buses: Eskelisen Lapin Linjat operates the Rovaniemi–Kilpisjärvi–Rovaniemi route on the Finnish side.

To book a return ticket with more than 4 days in between, please book 2 separate tickets (price is the same as a return ticket).

The Arctic Route is a safe, reliable and comfortable way of travelling to new adventures and unforgettable memories in the Arctic region.

The route is operated with new and comfortable coaches with wifi (only between Tromsø and Kilpisjärvi) and toilet, available for the passengers. Competent and service-oriented drivers fluent in English.

Daily departures/arrivals at Tromsø, Kilpisjärvi, Karesuando, Palojoensuu, Muonio, Olostunturi, Levi, Kittilä, Rovaniemi.

• Bring your passport – you are travelling to Finland.
• Bus change will take place at the bus stop in Kilpisjärvi. (only during the winter season)
• Wi-Fi is available only between Tromsø and Kilpisjärvi – password 40002196.(only during the winter season)
• Summer departures from Tromsø (until 20 September 2025): the bus will be parked in the open area next to Prostneset bus terminal, in front of Sky Fitness Tromsø: View location on map.
